Recycled Crafts: Using Old Bottle Caps

Posted by Mindy on March 25th, 2009 at 08:44am

I’m not sure what it is about bottle caps that makes people want to save and hoard them. In college it wasn’t uncommon to see bowls or jars full of beer bottle caps in people’s apartments. I always try to save bottle caps, with the hope of doing something crafty, but usually end up tossing them because I either lack creative ideas or just get sick of looking at them. I found a post this morning on Crafting a Green World that includes 10 ways to reuse bottle caps. Here are three of my favorites. (You can read the complete post here.)

Don’t know about bottle tops but bottle corks make a nice pin board. You can also use them as firelighters. Just put in a jar, fill with white spirit and leave to soak for a week then carefully drain ff the white spirit and leave corks to dry.

Not sure how crafty that tip is, but hey. Keep up the great blog!
