Hi my name is Christine and I’m from Illinois, not born, but definitely raised. I was born in Tampa, Florida, too bad I’m not still there. My favorite things to do are play with my nieces and nephews, plan my wedding, hang out with friends and take pictures. I definitely like to read a good book when I find one. I’m new to the crafting world, but I am learning a lot, and quickly.

I studied Journalism at Eastern Illinois University. I loved it there and wasn’t ready to leave, but I guess we all have to live in the real world at some point. I graduated in 2007, which seems like a long time ago, but while I was there I worked on the school newspaper as well as the magazine we printed. I loved the entertainment world. I also graduated with a minor in Sociology…I have yet to use what I learned. I am lucky enough to have found such a great job in the crafting field. I love it and I hope I continue bringing you great content!

Caley Walsh

My name is Caley and I’m originally a Hoosier (from Indiana for those not in the know). I have a fondness for crochet, crafting with recycled materials and homemade soap. As a foodie of sorts and a former editor for a major food and cooking website, I can boast amongst other things an authentic Mexican Mole and a few tasty baked goods. As I’m always teaching myself new things, crafting is part of my great DIY adventure.

I’ve been living in Ireland for the last year, while completing a Master’s in Popular Literature at Trinity College in Dublin. My dissertation was on McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, a literary magazine which I really hope you enjoy or plan to check out. Previously, I attended Northwestern University and fell in love with Chicago and its skyline and Midwest friendliness. Despite my affection, I moved to New York for a short stint before Dublin and soaked up as much culture as I could. In proper nomadic fashion characterizing my life in the last few years, I’m planning a move to San Francisco with my Irish boyfriend in the near future. This is my last move and I can’t wait to explore the vibrant crafting scene out there and escape the Irish weather for good.

mindyphoto Meet the Editors Mindy Yahr

My name is Mindy and I make up ½ of the FaveCrafts Blog Pittsburgh contingency. My passions all seem to start with the letter “F” – football, food writing and feminism (and FaveCrafts!) – and I am new to the crafting world. I love to take pictures so the majority of my crafting experience is in creating photo projects like homemade frames, scrapbooks and cards. As a result, I often spend an inordinate amount of time in Michael’s looking at all the 3-Dimensional stickers.

My professional background is focused primarily on all things epicurean. I have worked as a food and restaurant writer for Chicago magazine, StyleChicago.com, Rodale Inc., and Metromix.com. I am a recent graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where I studied Magazine Journalism and completed a double major in Gender Studies.

This is my 1st time here. I found patterns I will probably use for a baby blanket and a pattern for hat and gloves.
I would really thank you for the free pattern but more importantly the print size of the instructions. I don’t think it’s my hardware because I it just does not work on other patterns that I print. The print size is large enough that I don’t need my reading glasses.
    Thank you.
