How to make Valentine’s Day Rose Bouquet

Posted by Kelly on February 5th, 2009 at 09:43am

This Valentine’s Day craft is perfect for teaching young children lessons in following directions and by the end they will have a inexpensive Valentine’s Day gift to give to a loved one; an excellent preschool valentine project!

Materials:

  • Tissue Paper in red, pink, or white
  • Green Pipe Cleaners
  • Masking Tape
  • Green Tempera Paint
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon

Steps:

  1. Cut tissue paper in pieces 18” long and 2” wide.
  2. Roll tissue paper lightly and pinch one of the bottoms and twist off.
  3. Take a green pipe cleaner and hold it on the pinched part of the tissue paper rose.
  4. Use masking tape to attach pipe cleaner to the rose.  Paint it green to match the green pipe cleaner stem.
  5. Have your child make as many roses as they see fit.
  6. Wrap the roses with tissue paper and tie ribbon around in a bow like a bouquet.
  7. Handmade cards are a nice accompaniment to this project! Now you have a beautiful tissue paper rose bouquet to give away!
