Home Decor Tuesday: Bedroom Decorations

Buying a house is such an exciting time in anyone’s life. Along with the big purchase comes all the small purchases like your decorations. I’m still in the process of buying those for my new house. We just painted our bedroom a couple weeks ago, so now the walls are lonely and want something hanging up. I really like the green and maroon wall art, but I’m not sure it’ll go with our paint scheme. We painted in the brown family.
I found this leaf window frame wall art that I really like, but now I’m not sure if it’ll pop since it might blend in too well with the bedroom walls. What to do what to do.

I’ve always found the best way to decorate a new space is to go slow. Find a few pieces that speak to you in design or color and then fill in the blanks over time when you find things you really love instead of feeling the need to fill each space with items you feel so-so about. The best solution for me is to collect fabrics, print out craft ideas from online or tear them from magazines or catalogs, and then make them as the ideas solidify in my mind. Congratulations on the new house! The great part about the wall art project is that you can make it work in any room. And since it’s a low-cost investment, you don’t feel guilty creating it to provide HUGE visual impact and then replacing it in a few years if you find something that better suits your decor.
