Help a Reader: Honeycomb Knitting Pattern

Posted by Christine on September 4th, 2009 at 08:53am

We received this request from one of our readers and we were hoping one of you fellow crafters would have an answer for her. Sadly, she lost a knitting pattern during one of the unfortunate hurricanes last year; Hurricane Ike.

Here is what she sent:

I lost the HONEYCOMB knitting pattern during Hurricane IKE last year and have an unfinished sweater. Is there another knitter out there that knows the stitch pattern and is willing to send to me?

If you can help her out, this would be greatly appreciated! Let’s turn this unfortunate situation into something happy!

I typed “honeycomb knitting pattern” as a request on internet. It came up with a few choices. One is http//home.howstuffworks.com/free-knitting-patterns-for-baby-blanket3.htm. Perhaps you can find the honeycomb pattern you’re looking for there. Good luck.

Ravelry.com lists a Honeycomb pattern from Knitty Magazine,Spring 2008, if that is the pattern she lost.
She would need to Join Ravelry, but it is free, or maybe check with Knitty on line.

I was going to suggest to google Honeycomb Stitch but by the responses you have you probably have already done it. Good luck with the pattern. Christine from Australia.

I have the honeycomb sweater pattern, unfortunately it got lost in my sewing room and I haven’t yet come across it no matter how many times I search. But my pattern read: row 1 knit 1 knit 1B, all the way across, then row 2 knit 2, knit 1B. It was worked in one piece from bottom to where it divided for armholes. the “B’ means knit one below.
