Hi! I’m Jennifer Mathis of Ellison Lane Quilts, and I’m excited to be guest blogging at Fave Crafts Blog today! Since it’s National Sewing Month, I’m sharing one of my all-time favorite techniques with you today.
- pattern
- rotary cutter
- cutting mat
- fabric
- ruler (I love the Add-A-Quarter ruler but a regular quilting ruler will be fine.)
- fabric glue stick such as Lapel Stick

This is an awesome way of doing this.
This definitely excited my “let’s get busy learning a new (well, to me!) quilting method. I can’t wait to share this with one of my younger sisters too! This will be a great “family project” to do!

So cute! I love paper piecing because the accuracy and design is so great with it. But I can always tell when I’m getting tired and need a break, because I sew something on upside down. That’s when it’s time for some chocolate.
What a great tutorial, must make some time to try it. The quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing it with the quilting community.
What a great tutorial – I feel even I could do this
looks much easier than measuring and cutting .
Thanks for the wonderful paper piecing tutorial. I found it via our blog! Thanks for the tip of shortening my stitch length! What a great idea to help get that paper off the block when finished piecing! Also, thanks for the two free blocks. What a cute mug rug! Wouldn’t they be adorable in Christmas fabrics for presents (early) for decorating?
This is very easy to follow, I hope to whip up a batch of squares soon!
