Etsy Picks: Crafting Poe

For those non-football fans out there, this past weekend, my hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, beat the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC North title, 13 to 9, with a touchdown in the last 43 seconds of playing time.  It was a pretty exciting game towards the end and I have to tell you that the people of Pittsburgh are completely thrilled.  Steelers fans are serious about their team, let me tell yinz guys (Pittsburgh inside joke!).

Anyways, in light of the Ravens loss, I’ve been thinking Baltimore.  And one thing Baltimore always reminds me of is Edgar Allen Poe, one of my all-time favorite writers.  He was dark and moody and ultimately, a misunderstood genius during his day.  His work is timeless — from The Tell-Tale Heart to Annabel Lee and of course, The Raven (now do you see the football connection?  Baltimore Ravens — who knew the NFL had such subtle literary allusions floating around?!).
