Christmas Countdown: Festive Decorations

Can you hear the sleigh bells ringing? Well maybe not quite yet, but Christmas is well on its way. This means that it’s time to start preparing those decorations, if you haven’t already.
I don’t know about you, but I love decorating for Christmas. From dusting off boxes of family ornaments, to watching my cat play with the strings of lights as I try my best to untangle them (thankfully she hasn’t gotten electrocuted yet) – I love it all! While my family enjoys using ornaments from Christmas pasts, but it’s always nice to incorporate a few new, handmade ornaments too. Even if you don’t use the newer ones to decorate your home, you can always give them away as gifts to your family and friends.
In honor of this Sunday’s issue of the Quick and Crafty newsletter which features an array of festive and easy Christmas crafts, here are some additional ideas for decorating this year. I hope you enjoy!
This is such a simple Christmas craft, but it can be used in a variety of ways. Make a few for the mantelpiece, some for a side table or place some by the presents underneath the tree. I plan to use mine as a fancy centerpiece for the holiday meal.

Besides getting obvious points for being a cute and mini stocking, this ornament would look great on the tree as well as hanging from the mantel. For something different, try stringing several on a strand of Christmas lights. This will make them easier wrap around the tree.
This is such a beautiful project. I love the vintage vibe that comes from the faded colors and dated font. Use this Paper Christmas Rose as an ornament, a fancy gift tag or a decorative wall hanging.
Merry Almost Christmas!
