Book Review and Giveaway: The Complete Guide to Wire & Beaded Jewelry
Posted by Maria on March 10th, 2009 at 11:52am
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER:
Debbie H.
Book Review by Maria Nerius
I’ve tried to follow the instructions of several wire jewelry books with little luck, but The Complete Guide to Wire & Beaded Jewelry is the first where I’ve been able to complete projects and be happy with my results. Jones has done an excellent job of writing instructions that the beginner can handle, yet the more advanced jewelry artist will be enticed by the over 50 projects; many include variations that expand what you can create. My favorite designs were the wire flowers shown on the cover. I also enjoyed the Floating Amethyst Necklace. Projects include necklaces, bracelets, earrings, bridesmaid’s wand, brooches, hair bobbles, and tiara. This really is one of the best wire jewelry books I’ve read. If you like jewelry, this book should be in your creative book library.
WIN THIS BOOK!
We’re giving away a copy of “The Complete Guide to Wire & Beaded Jewelry”! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and you will be automatically entered. Contest ends March 31, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. CST.

I really like that the image on the cover is not a wire piece seen nearly everywhere else. It looks appealing! I love seeing creativity and ingenuity as I watch how others learn and teach and generally enjoy working with metal! Wire is where I started and still go back to because so many people (including me) like it.

Making jewelry is a craft I have wanted to learn for a long time. I’ve not been able to find any classes in this craft, and know I would benefit totally from winning this book. I am disabled and cannot get into stores easily to find books and products, so most of my shopping is done online. I really hope to win this book. I’m sure it will provide many opportunities to learn and craft beautiful jewelry to give and wear. Thank you.
Barbara J. Shelton
98. Barbara Shelton | March 20th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
I thought I had submitted a comment, but have not seen it. I’ll try again, because I really want a chance to win this book. Making jewelry has been a craft I have wanted to learn for such a long time, and I have not been able to locate classes that teach it. I am disabled, so don’t get much opportunity to shop in stores, so I do most of my shopping online. Owning this book would greatly benefit my desire to learn this craft. I would be able to create beutiful jewelry to give away or wear. Thank you.

126. Gigi Eacmen | March 20th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
Have just had heart failure and starting to design what is next. This book will enhance my knowledge; and get me restarted doing wire and bead work. I have great ideas and hopefully this book will motivate me to create even more. I never thought crafting and wire sculpting would be my livelihood; I am passionate about wiring and work for hours before I fall face down on my desk exhausted (not too sensible
). Please choose me because not only will I open the book to give me great ideas but when I get sleepy I will have a book on my work area so I won’t bang my head on wood when I fall asleep while doing what I love.
Sleepless in Boston.
Thank you for considering me.
