The “Oscars” like event for crochet, the Flamies, was held last night by podcast at Getting Loopy. The worldwide crochet public voted for the 2009 Annual Crochet Awards, making it a prestigious honor for the winners. Selections were made by popular vote in 23 categories including Best Crochet Video by an Amateur, Best Crochet Instructor and even a Lifetime Achievement Award. You can listen to the show here. Winners will also be posted on the Crochet Liberation Front blog.
The Flamies are the creation of the Crochet Liberation Front (CLF) and member Ellen Gormley. The CLF is a movement of able hooksters across the globe whose aim is simple: Global Domination of the Hook!
Susan BatesĀ® brand from Coats & Clark was selected as the Best Crochet Hook in the 2009 Annual Crochet Awards. Joan Barnett, implements and crochet thread product manager for Coats & Clark accepted the digital Flaming Crochet Hook of Justice via podcast.
Congrats to Susan Bates brand and Coats & Clark for a fine crochet hook!
